Our Organisation
Our organisation is committed to assisting people who are disadvantaged through lack of appropriate transport, to maintain an active and engaged civic and social life. Formerly known as Ogwr Transport for the Elderly and Disabled (OTED), since 1991 we have been delivering door to door accessible minibus transport for community groups and individuals across Bridgend County Borough and surrounding areas. In 2010, our organisations' Memorandum and Articles of Association were amended to enable delivery of services to a broader spectrum of groups and individuals including: people who are socially excluded; those living in isolated areas; people who need to get to healthcare appointments; and young people who needing to access workplace, recreational or leisure facilities. In 2014 our name changed to Bridgend Community Transport Ltd to reinforce this identity.
Bridgend Community Transport Ltd is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Our organisation is the only Community Transport operator serving residents of Bridgend County Borough. The main operating centre is located on the outskirts of Bridgend Town Centre within a garage and office space which we own freehold. Some of our vehicles are also based in the outlying Garw, Llynfi and Ogmore Valleys.
Our charity currently offers accessible transport solutions for charitable and voluntary groups, and individuals, through a range of services including the provision of fully accessible minibuses for community groups, dial a ride, community car, and wheels to work services for individuals.
